How do you add or remove items from the "Open With" menu? ... Harold

Click on My Computer.
Click View from the menu bar.
Click Folder Options.
Select the File Types tab.
From the list, select the file type that you want to add an option to (for example, let's use a "Text Document" which normally opens with Notepad.exe).
Click Edit, then select "New..." in the next dialog box. Type the action you want, in this example "Open with Wordpad."

NOTE: If you wish to delete an Open with item, then click on the Delete button instead of the Edit button.

In the "Application used to perform action" box, use the Browse button to navigate your hard drive until you find the desired application (e.g. "C:\Program Files\Accessories\WORDPAD.EXE").
Select the program and click the Open button.
Click OK
If you wish to make this new choice the new Default, then click on "Set default" button before you click on Close. The new default will then appear in bold font.
Click Close until you've closed the remaining dialog boxes.

Follow the steps above to add another Open with action if you so desire. I happen to have four options for most Text files (Notepad, Wordpad, Superpad, and SPF)

Now try it out!
Right-click on a file normally opened with Notepad and you will find that you have an a new option to "Open with Wordpad."
If you made this new option the default, then it will appear as boldface font on the Right-click menu. The default always appears as bold.
