Looks like you're going to have to email them. Their website
is pathetic. They only have the 48x and 52x listed, and no
CDRW manuals. The install guide for CDRW drives said there are
THREE conventional jumpers but didn't even say which were
which. Here are some URL's:
http://64.70.234.121/faq/FAQ_CD-RW5.htm
http://www.artecusa.com/

BTW, the model # is WRA-OA40 so you may find more searching for
that.

Windows has drivers for all IDE CDRW/CDROM drives. The drivers
are pretty much the same and windows will recognize
it......assuming it's jumpered correctly! It would probably be
quicker just to try both jumper settings and see which one
works.

Hi folks,

I have obtained an Artec CD Writer CD-RW with "Just Link"
technology. It
is used and has no hardware or manuals, so I need a bit of
advice from
someone familiar with this writer. Most optical drives have 3
jumpers for
setting the CSL / Master / Slave, but this drive has no jumpers
installed,
although it does have the jumper connectors. It also appears
that instead
of the usual CSL, Master, Slave settings, it has only two
setting
connectors with the middle missing, in this configuration : |
:
I assume it leaves out the CSL, but I don't know.

I want to install it as the Master drive on the secondary IDE
connector,
running under Win98 SE.

The specs are:
CD Writer
24x 10x 40x
Model WRA - OA4O.

Also, does WIN98 have the drivers in the database, or do I need
to get the
drivers?

Roger
