Helen,

I used GoBack but I am working with the original
configurations of an HP (still under warranty and don't want
to disrupt it) and GoBack perpetually running to keep track
of a 74+ gig drive became difficult. It also was rare that
GoBack had more than ONE setpoint because of the size
involved (the program is size self-limiting). It also will
not work in tandem with XP's restore if I understand that
correctly.

I finally removed GoBack which had periodically interfered
with shutdown (not always, but enough to be aggravating) and
re-enabled XP's restore which functions just fine (as you
discovered). It sets in restore points whenever you do a
Windows Update, when you install drivers, when you uninstall
or install major programs. Once you are used to it, I think
you will do just fine with it. If you are going to be
dealing with some heavy configuring/installing/uninstaling,
you might want to consider setting in your own restore point
which you can create at will before embarking on such work.
