Clint, are you not receiving mail. Have you got your sp*m filters turned up
too high? I answered this a week ago. This seems to be the second time
this has happened. And I sent you some mail off list that you never
responded to. What's going on?

You don't have those options if you installed IAA. DMA is on by default and
you can check the status in the IAA program. I haven't ever found any
options for it at all.

Subject: PCWorks: No DMA mode choices for PRI & SEC controller in XP Pro

Can someone tell me please where you enable/disable DMA for the
PRI and SEC controllers in XP Pro? I don't have it where it
should be in the Device Manager. I was told there is an
"advanced" tab for these settings but I don't have it. I THINK
I remember seeing them before the mobo drivers or the IAA was
installed. If that's the case, does installing "fast" mobo
drivers or the IAA remove the "advanced" tab for the
controllers in the Device Manager? Maybe the IAA makes DMA
enabled all the time? (IAA = Intel Application Accelerator).
Mobo is a P4B533, 845PE chipset and in the DM for the IDE PRI &
SEC controllers it has "Intel 82801DB Ultra ATA controller"
which uses the IAA. That for sure supports DMA. ? Then under
the "Intel 82801DB Ultra ATA controller" it as the PRI and SEC
IDE entries. No "advanced" tabs for ANY of them.
Thanks,
-Clint
