Running XP Pro with the latest critical updates installed on my Toshiba Satellite 1400.
My problem is.....At shutdown, when I try to put the machine into Standby or Hibernate, I am informed that "The device driver for the Standard 101/102 Keyboard Device is preventing the machine from entering Standby. Please close all applications and try again. You may need to update this driver". I have run SFC and have not had any report of any corrupt file. I have thought of uninstalling the Keyboard Driver and reinstalling it but am not at all sure if this is the way to go or if it would be of any help in solving the problem. It is unnerving to think of not having the use of the keyboard for say at boot up, when the password has to be inserted to get to "Administrator" and I imagine there will be other times when the Keyboard will be needed. I know that I would be able to "do away with the password" in this instance, but is this the way to start to tackle the problem. Any help with this will be much appreciated.
