Look in the Event Viewer for this event. It may be under "System" or "Application" and will be a red "X" and "Error", and probably will have a "Dr. Watson" event above or below it. Don't expect to get any REAL info from it though. But, it's all you can do. It may tell you the file/module/service/app that's causing it.
appcompat.txt is the file that's sent to M$ about the error........of which of course they check for any personal info, then just delete it ignoring the error or crash!! The file is deleted after the info is sent to them or even if you don't send it it's deleted. Usually there's no helpful info in this file to you, only file/module versions and some "cryptic" things. -Clint God Bless Clint Hamilton, Owner http://OrpheusComputing.com ) ----- Original Message ----- From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> I am having trouble with Win XP Home, showing an error that has the following line in it:C:\Docume~1\Dan\Locals~1\temp\wer54.tmp.diroOO\appcompat.txt-this dumps me off the internet, keeps Winamp from running, keeps many other programs from opening/running and generally aggravates me-I would appreciate any suggestions(lookes it up on Google and it recommended uninstalling IE?)
