Hee hee, that sounds like me. It's not just like that in Pre XP, XP does the same thing. Whether it's 95/98, 2k or XP, every time you install anything they want to dump it in the System Tray, and load it with Windows. I've seen customers with more than 12 unnecessary programs in the System Tray and wonder why their PC takes so long to load and why it's slow. -Clint

This is the reason why all you Pre-XP users have to hassle with a zillion icons on your system tray, because vendors (IMO) all believe they have to be the forefront of your desktop. Buddy: "What does that little icon do?" Me: "Oh, it just goes to options." Buddy: "It didn't install an icon on the start menu?" Me: "Oh, it did, and in the control panel, and on a floating toolbar that never removes even after I tell it to, and an icon on my desktop, and a new menu item on every navigation window..." Vendors need to get a grip. Ok I'm done ranting on a Monday. -J -----Original Message----- Michael Turner I gotta ask, is he stealing internet service, or does he have permission from the neighbor? Which does not impact on your question. But, what you don't make clear is where the printer is. His house or the neighbor's? If the neighbor's place, then all he has to do is install the printer on his computer, probably with the CD, but sometimes some printer drivers can be "extended" from computer to computer. If at home, how is he connecting? Is the printer hooked up to a wireless router? If so, then the CD installation is the ticket.
