That just depends on how you have OE setup ("Read" settings and how wide your
preview window is), and, on how the sender is typing (whether or not they hit
the [enter] key and their line wrap settings.

You can drag the vertical separator bar which separates the preview/read
email from the folder list, left or right to change how most text is
displayed in emails. Too small of an area to the right and text lines will
be of different length.

(Those >> marks may not bother you, but it's hell on those trying to read a
thread). One knows which is old and which is new by simply looking at the
order of the emails. Someone manually adding > to respond DIRECTLY below to
a SPECIFIC quote is OK. Like this:

>(I'll try that out although have no objections to brackets; they
>let you know what's new and what's old)

...and any comments here.

Using Windows 98, IE 6 and OE 6 ... I'm surprised you guys are missing the
question. I have no trouble removing brackets whether I use my eCleaner or
Roger's "Stripmail" (I'm sure they are all good). And thank you, Clint, for
the OE>Tools>Options>Send>Mail Settings Format>Plain Text Settings>and
uncheck the "Indent the original text with" box (I'll try that out although
I have no objections to brackets; they let you know what's new and what's
old) ... but that's not the gist of the question.

It's the scattered look of the thread paragraphs that concern me. Brackes or
no bracket, the paragraphs are not (what's the word? "word wrapped"?) ...
one line has twelve words on it, the next line might have one word on it.
How can we make the thread paragraphs look like a paragraph should look? Is
it possible that I'm the only one seeing scattered lines in thread
paragraphs? ... Harold
