Ann, I can't help you with disappearing programs (did you check out the SP2 compatibility guide?), but as for attachments--they are blocked by default I believe in SP2. Just to into "Options" and the "Security" tab and uncheck the attachment box.
I'm going to send you off-list a prelim I have on SP2 testing that may, MIGHT, help you with some of your problems right now, but I doubt it. SP1 and XP alone that you've updated with patches are going to have "[whatever]SP2" in the name of the update even with no SP2 installed. There should be another entry for JUST "SP2" or something like that to remove just SP2. I recommend you posting a separate email for issue you have if you need further help on the other issues. -Clint God Bless Clint Hamilton, Owner http://OrpheusComputing.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ann Parker" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> I am resending this request just in case you didn't get it. (I didn't receive it.) Since sending it originally, I have found out that the emails that Outlook Express won't let me receive are attachments. Hope someone can help me. ----- Original Message ----- I need help. I have an HP Pavilion and use Outlook Express. In the past two or three days, I have begun receiving from friends emails that I could not download. Instead a message such as the following appears at the top: "OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail: Fm_A Southern Baptism.eml" Obviously, I have clicked on something that has caused this, but I don't know what. Or that horrible SP2 has messed it up. Everything bad is happening to my computer since they put sp2 on my harddrive. Many programs have just disappeared from my harddrive, mostly the ones I use to work with graphics. My software equipment that I downloaded to use with my new digital camera no longer works. I just get a yellow exclamation and the comment that my camera cannot be found, though it is installed just exactly like it has been every time I have used it for the past six months. I would uninstall sp2, but when I find it under ADD and Delete in the Control Panel, I find it listed 14 times under Windows Hotfix sp2, and I am afraid to delete all of that. Sure would appreciate help with the email problem. Guess I'll have to get a service man to come help me with the camera problem.
