I don't recall how to populate the list on '98 (it's done automatically on XP), but you can drag a shortcut from anything you want to the "Send To" folder and use that instead of the "Open with......." function. I always do that with IrfanView, Metapad, and several other apps. -Clint
God Bless Clint Hamilton, Owner http://OrpheusComputing.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Harold B" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Hello again (Windows 98), How does one add a program to the "Open With" window? Specifically, I use both Lview and IrfanView for my graphics (for the group, both are free and highly recommended). I put both exe files are in my Program Files folder. My jpg's and gif's are configured to all open with Lview. For anyone interested, I do that by going to: My Computer, View, Folder Options, File Types, (highlight a graphics file), Edit, New, Action (open), Application (browse to Lview, for example, which you had previously put into your Program Files folder), click OK, Close. As a result, I find Lview on the "Open With" list. However, IrfanView is not on the list . how do I put it on that list? ... Harold PS (an aside which belongs in Subject: "Formatting replies to the group") ... Just want to mention to Clint that here again, I have no problem typing this posting (no Enter key necessary). It's the *threads* that often look all skewed. That problem has not been solved. Maybe that is totally out of the control of the person receiving and resending such threads ...
