When you launch v6.0 it's slow even on a fast machine. FWIW there's there's a utility to speed up the process for most users at <http://www.tnk-bootblock.co.uk> called "Adobe Reader Speed- Up". From the readme file: "Adobe Reader Speed-Up (ARSU) was created in an effort to automate the process of speeding up Adobe Reader's launch time by disabling the majority of plugins that are, quite franky, completely useless for most users."
