Hello, I *know* what compacting does and like I said, I do it daily. My question is why am I getting this prompt, and how to STOP OE from doing this in the background. Please read my post again. ;-) I don't sub to any newsgroups and those boxes are unchecked, so they are N/A. Thanks. -Clint
