PCWorks: Hyperactive scanner

I have a Lexmark X83 MFD (no longer supported) and Textbridge Millennium 
Pro 8 (ditto) and I want to do OCR. I have Win XP-SP2 on a 2GHz Dell 
Dimension 8200.

The text recognition is just fine, but the X83 continues to scan until I 
press ESC. There is no document feeder, and I can't inkle what the 
problem is.
Any suggestions?
