[Name?] That DSO exploit garbage has been a problem with SB
since day one and they refuse to fix the bug. You have to fix
this manually. I've never seen this problem on AdAware, so I
don't know what to say about it. I don't even remember if
AdAware even tags it.

To fix it, just go to the registry in those several places SB
tags this exploit. Depending on how you have it setup, you
either double click the entry in SB, or go to the right of the
entry and click the "location" area or something like that, and
it will open the registry and in few seconds it will go to the
exact registry tag. Delete that "1004" entry in the right pane
that has the red & white icon (I forget what type of key it is
since I'm going from memory alone here), then right click an
open area and "create new Dword", call it 1004 then
change the value to 3 (double-click then change it to 3). Now
SB will no longer tag it as bad.

As far Wild Tangent, I haven't had any experience with it. You
can usually just do a search on these stubborn infestations and
find the removal info that way. Search for that name, and I'm
sure you'll find removal info. You can also search for that
name along with SpyBot in the search phrase and you'll probably
see what exactly is going on, why it won't fix it. Remember
that in some cases, these anti-malware programs might be
REMOVING the malware, but it's a program on your PC that keeps
putting it back, and the specific program will have to be
removed in order for it to stop adding its malware.

I have spybot and adaware SE on my Windows XP computer,
I am on a dsl connection with a firewall, each time I run spybot
these two
entries keep showing titled "DSO Exploit"and "Wild Tangent".
I choose to fix them in spybot, but everytime I rerun spybot
they're there
again. What exactly are these entries? Is there any way I can
get rid of them
forever, and if so what might be the consequences? Thanks to
anyone who can help.
