You can't locate them because they are not in a specific area. 
You can't "save" drivers after they have been installed.  You 
have to have the original driver(s), be it the download, CD or 
floppy, or some compiler/decomplier program.  This is why you 
always need to keep the original media, or downloads on a CD. 
A complicated process usually takes place when you typically 
install drivers.  Among them, directory(ies) are created in 
"Program Files", and sometimes under "Documents and settings"; 
dll's, vxd's and the like are created in the Windows and 
System32 folder for example, and the registry is and Device 
Manager is changed to name a few.  Even if you could locate all 
the files, you cannot simply drag these files to backup media, 
then put them back in their places because no "installation" 
would be taking place.

That program Keith mentioned appears to do the trick since it 
seems to clone the install process, but it's not free.
