Original gripe: > Using Outlook Express 6, AVG, and ZoneAlarm. Here's the problem: Granddaughter sent me a birthday greeting with a PowerPoint attachment I also got this message on top of the Outlook Express window: "OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail: Happy Birthday Grandpa Harold. ppt" --- How do I configure any of the above programs so I can get this attachment? ... Grandpa Harold
And Ben says: > Go to Tools/options and on the security tab uncheck the box that reads "Do not allow attachments ... " --- Ben Moore That was easy --- And I thought I was doing right by stopping the attachments thinking that OE was going to decide what's dangerous and what's safe. I do recall getting txt and doc attachments with no trouble. What made OE stop the PowerPoint? Also interesting was that when installing MSOffice, I did not install PP because I thought I had no need for it. I actually didn't (never used it before) and always thought it was for commercial purposes (like salesmen showing their wares to some interested buyers). Now my granddaughter wakes me up with this presentation ... and it was beautiful. Gotta swallow my pride and now learn from the grandkids --- Harold ============= PCWorks Mailing List ================= Don't see your post?
