Is there such a thing as a generic or universal sound card
driver for Windows 98 SE? A friend of mine who is blind
installed Windows 98 SE on her computer but the driver can
not be found by Windows. It is a PCI sound card. She is
unable to open the computer and look at the sound card to get
the information about it and it might be quite a while before
she can have someone do it for her.

She thinks it might be a Yamaha card. If I tell her to
install the Yamaha driver that Windows 98 SE has any guesses
if that could work?

Before anyone asks why not go with Windows XP, she can not
afford it. She did have an illegal copy of XP on the machine
but did not want to keep it.

Thanks,

Tom
