Wally & others,
Here's what I found on Google with the search: dual boot win2000 win98:
http://www.guru3d.com/tech/dualboot/
http://www.duxcw.com/digest/Howto/software/windows/dual/
There were other links also.
These explain step by step how to do the install. Its basically install win98 first and then win 2000. Keith had mentioned this in his email...isn't it funny how when you have a 50/50 chance to get something right it seems like you always pick the wrong 50...Its more like the odds are 70/30. For me, this is a clean install to make a dual boot system, so to fix my problem, I just formatted the partitions again and started over. I used the 2nd link above and now it works just fine. I get the choice to load either OS with win 2000 being the primary selection, just what I wanted. You have about 30 seconds to decide which OS you want. If you don't make a choice, it loads the primary OS. I also have a 3 partition hard drive. 15GB, 5GB, 5GB. (C,D,E) When I loaded win98 first, it wanted to go to partition C:\, but it gave me the choice so I installed it on the D: since it wasn't my primary OS and I didn't want it on the 15GB area. That worked fine but it did put some system files on C:. I went ahead and installed win2000 on the C: partition and that went fine. Everything is working great...so far... I'm pretty sure you can't install 2 OS's on the same partition, one would try to overwrite the other.
