PCWorks: Asking for a friend

I have just received this message from a friend who uses Firefox.  I'm not 
familiar with Firefox (I use Mozilla).  This sounds very suspicious to 
me.  Has anyone experienced this problem?  If so, what did you do about the 
bookmarks?

last nite before I got off was going to firefox and it would not let me on 
until I downloaded the new version.  left it downloading and went to 
bed.  was done this morning and had to install.  it made mozilla my 
homepage changed that back but now all my bookmarks are gone.  is there 
any way to retrieve those?
