Yeah, that'll work to, but it's probably easier to do it via 
software.  I use Sygate, and I right click it and "block all". 
That makes me think you must never click the Sygate icon.  Have 
you ever gone into "Options" and made sure everything in the 
"Security" tab is checked?  On my particular setup, I can't 
check "anti IP spoofing" for some reason, but I CAN on my other 
PC's.  You also may want to check the "Network Neighborhood" 
tab and make sure those two boxes are NOT checked.  I use the 
Pro version, so you may not even have these areas.
