There are too many that appear on both this page to be done by
individuals, I'm sure they are automatic...... .. Thanks for the
thoughts!

Subject: Re: PCWorks: How to add a verifier on a comments page on a
website

Is this something that's spontaneously happening or are some
jerks doing it?

I don't know how it's done, but you can look up any domain's
whois at www.godaddy.com and you'll see the "verifier image".
Where you see "DOMAIN.COM is already taken. (click here for
info)" and you click that you're brought to the page. Look at
the source code of the page for:

<form name="authenticate" method="post"

...and in that area you'll see "Access code:" and below it the
URL of the image. You can see that oddly it's just a static
image, but it's obviously some how dynamically generated. So,
there has to be some type of JavaScript or a script that goes
along with it. I'd search through the code for "java" and
"script" and see if you can find the associated files or
commands for it to generate the image. It could be in the
<head> tag, or at the bottom of the page, or some cases it
could be anywhere in the HTML code.

I have a site that has a comments page. Lately I get all manner
of junk
links attaching themselves onto the page. I have seen some
sites use
these "verifiers" where you must type the letters in a squiggly
box (or
something like that) before the site will accept your input.my
site was
done in FrontPage XP . I don't know html. thanks for any help!!
