I discovered the answer. There is a program called "Sonic" that is used by WinXP for formatting RW-CDs. Without formatting, all CDs become "read only" ... So it was Adaptec in Win98 and it is Sonic in WinXP (well, waddaya know) --- Harold ============= PCWorks Mailing List =================
