Donna:
I agree with Cliff, you should look to the
motherboard. You could supply more information
about what lead up to the problem.
Based on what you have writen, look on your
motherboard at the secondary IDE connector.
If there is a cable connected there, remove it.
Then with a soft brush (or low pressure air)
clear any particles from around or between the
pins. If there is no cable there just do the
cleaning. Try starting the maching. If no
problem, plug the cable into the secondary
connector on the motherboard. If still no
problem, reassemble your machine. If
plugging the cable in gives a problem then
you have a defective cable. If you have a
problem with no cable plugged in then you
have a defective motherboard.
