This could be pretty hard to find out Dale. Even if you found
detailed info on the audio chipset from the chip manufacturer,
the mobo manufacturers may or may not have all the options
supported for it. I've never seen a mobo manual go into that
kind of detail for sound recording either. Your newer mobo's
these days have good integrated audio. Most of your higher end
boards have 8 ch audio, 7.1, or 6 ch at worse. But, there's
little info if any regarding the RECORDING capabilities of
them.

I wouldn't base a buying decision for a mobo on its audio
alone. Find a mobo you want with all the features you want,
then if the audio doesn't suit you, you can always get a PCI
sound card that does what you want, and their specs and
features would be fully disclosed.

Subject: PCWorks: Specs on MoBo integrated audio

How do I find out what kind of performance I can expect
(recording) with
the integrated audio on a given motherboard?
Thanks.
