You say you have wireless on the laptop then you don't need anything else of that but you would have to build some sort of wireless network for your home. You can buy wireless hubs/routers that have a print server built in. That would give you the printer through a wireless connection. A hard drive has to have a computer to run it. The one you have has to plug into your laptop. There are devices called Network Attached Storage (NAS) that would let you do it. Do a search on google. These devices have just started coming out in the last year or so and remain fairly expensive.
You could also take a look at www.linksys.com or any of the wireless vendors. They have diagrams that are pretty good at explaining what hardware you would need. The short answer is yes you can do it. A full answer would require some more info like "is this your only computer" , "do you have a home network now". "how do you access the internet" , etc. Ben Moore -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jeff Dougherty Sent: Tuesday, November 22, 2005 10:12 PM To: [email protected] Subject: PCWorks: 2nd request.. USB wireless connections.. I'm surprised no one has responded, yet. If I get one of these USB wireless adaptors, will my HP ZV5000 laptop communicate with my HP printer? Is there such a thing as a wireless USB hub so I can print and access my wireless Internet and USB external hard drive? Hello.. I have a notebook with built-in wireless. I also have an external hard drive and printer that currently connect to my laptop. Is it possible to connect these to some sort of a hub and have my laptop wireless connect to the hub so I can utilize them? Is the built-in wireless only for the Internet? Or, would I have to purchase a USB wireless connector to plug into the laptop? Thank you.
