"Realsched" is Real Player, and you can eliminate it by tweaking the settings in the Application window. Look under "Options" or somesuch.
Real player has been doing this for years, and it's annoying.

Hellow again,

<snip> (A word of advice for ALL software installed; always check Msconfig's "Start up" tab and uncheck all those boxes you don't need nor use. AV software, firewalls and the like need to be checked, but software like image editing, Roxio, and countless others should be unchecked) <snip> --- Clint

I certainly second Clint's suggestion. When originally opening Windows XP and then adding a few programs that I need, I went to msconfig and unchecked (of course, a few at at time just to be safe), the following: apdproxy, alcxmntr, ctfmon, fm3032, HPBootOp, isburnwatcher, Ixccmon, msmsgs, ps2, Rundll32 (both of them), realsched (one remains checked; see below), and StartupMgr.

The only boxes I keep checked are xlclient, avgcc, realsched, and ctfmon. The latter two, even if I uncheck them, keep returning checked.
