I agree with Robert, it sounds as if you have a bad power supply.

I have a P IV 2.4 256 MB RAM machine running on windows XP.
My problem is that the computer restarts after every 5 minutes. I have
checked the fans are running. The hardware monitor from the Bios setup
also shows that the temperature is below 40 C.
I have formated the computer twice but the problem is still happening.
Can anyone tell me what could be the problem ?Is it the motherboard ?
