Harold, the Python installed on your computer is similar to the Java
Runtime Environment or Virtual Machine, it is needed to run an
application on your computer.
I say leave it as something installed on your computer needs it.

Hello again,
My Compaq Windows XP came preloaded with lots of commercial programs, games,
etc (most of which I delete). One of these still in the system is called
"Python" which I understand is a programming language. I am not a programmer
(except some simple html tags I sometimes use) so my question is, "Is there
any practical reason I should keep this Python and learn how to use it?" There
is so much to learn (and do), making time for learning, family, friends, and
fun (sometimes exclusive of each other), that just to keep one's sanity, one
has to set priorities ... what's important, and what's not. --- Harold
