Thanks for reply Ben and I can attached a screen shot of the programs on
this machine if you would like. I know it has realPlayer, windows media,
Sonic recordnow, InterVideo WinDVD. I have not tried all the functions
in the suite but I was just trying to get it to play a DVD. That is real
basic I think. My friend wants to be able to play and made DVD's in +
and - formats.
I have Nero on three computers of my own with no problems.
I think these programs he has was his effort to copy a DVD with no
success. His solution was to add more programs. His latest was to add
Lite-on SOHW-1673su which is a DVD+-R/RW DL Recorder.
The other play is a Toshiba ODD-DVD SD-R6252 DVD+R/RW recorder.
I suppose it might best to delete these other programs and then see if
Nero works.

Nero does a lot of things. What is it you want to do? Is it just Nero
Burning software of the whole suite. If the whole Suite, does nothing work?
If the problem is in recording, what other recording software is installed
on the machine. Sometimes other software conflicts with Nero.

Subject: PCWorks: Trouble with Nero and need a suggestion for another
product
I have been working on installing Nero 7 on a friends HP zv5000 with no
success at all. I have two CD units in the machine one is built in and
the other is USB called an EZ-Dub. After installing Nero and inserting a
disc I get a message that an "unexpected CD error". This happens on both
players. I have updated all drivers from the mfg websites. I have done
everything Nero has asked to no avail.(by the way the DVD/CD play just
fine in Windows media player.)
My question is what other CD/DVD software do you recommend that will do
what Nero does?
Thanks
