Thats the thing, the card is seen by the system and in windows. The bard
drive appears in the POST for the card but is not seen by the system,
which sometimes happens on older boards.
I just ran the Seatools from Seagate and the drive could not be found so
it is a bad controller card.
I will have to swap it out tomorrow.
Thanks Hugh,

Does the system see the HD and the card?
There's an FAQ here:
http://www.syba.com/support_download/faq/SD-SATA150R/index.html
See E, about installing the driver, which is a common problem.

I have a system here which has a Syba PCI to SATA addon card with a
new Seagate 250 gb SATA2. the Drive works smoothly in a system with
onboard SATA. But with this addon card the drive can have an OS
installed to it but the drive won't boot.
The mobo has only 1 free PCI slot and the BIOS is set to boot from the
SCSI drive as per the instructions in the addon cards' manual.
I'm thinking the addon card is bad and should be replaced. What do you
think?
