No, because either the dsp is completely recompiled or it isn't. If you load gradually then you should hit the same quadratic time problem.

I said you'd need to modify d_ugen.c. This is because there is no way to start compiling and not finish it and resume it later, while keeping the old compilation running in the meanwhile.
