If you are willing to do a bit of work on finishing up the 64-bit support, I highly recommend you get a 64-bit OS. But keep in mind then you will have to fix things, and there will be bugs. But the core of Pd should work fine now with 64-bit, that's been supported for a bit. The problems will mostly be with externals.
