your path should look like something like this:

/home/camilocadavid/Library/Pd/Contents/Resources/doc/examples/Gem/data/venus.obj



if you don't put the slash, the openfile command will look for a folder called 
'camilocadavid' from all pd registered folders
 which are pd/extra,  pd/bin, all the folders into extra, all pathes declared 
in startup with -path option,
 and the folder from where you've manually started the patch, is that right 
also on a mac?
