ok.
so I've been away from the machines...

if I run ./autogen.sh

both in fedora 11 and 13 and the current svn gem:

./configure moves until:

"checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c"

and then loops back to:

"checking whether build environment is sane... yes"

for ever...

I should mention that until recently i never used ./autogen.sh. I used
instead aclocal and then autoconf and worked fine.
