on a regular arduino (25 euros) you get 12 digital inputs (buttons) out of the box, expandable to 18 if you reuse the analog inputs. You also get 6 analog inputs (potentiometer). Load up firmata on the board, use pduino and you're good to go. The analog inputs are 10 bits, so that's 0-1023. Eight times MIDI, two times DMX.
