i don't know, it feels like we have clearly more bug reports for [wiimote] than for [disis_wiimote]
otoh, some debian statistics: pd-wiimote package has 0 (zero) bug-reports [1], and according to popcon, even more people have pd-wiimote installed than pd-osc (though the numbers are generally quite low, so maybe not very representative)
the problem with is, that people usually report bugs rather than success stories.
so here is one: i've been using [wiimote] (buttons, accel, motionplus) in 2 week installation, that was not turned off during the night.
