Well I certainly don't think it's hopeless, but whether or not it's worth the effort is another question.
The code is calling functions from some external libraries. I'm guessing there is a "pv" and a "helper" library somewhere with the rest of the PVNation code. Do you have the source for the whole project? I'm also wondering about the flag "-ObjC" in the makefile... is some of the project in Objective C? I'm using Linux so I guess I should expect some things to be different in the build process. Anyway, I think this could definitely be a feasible project, although I'm not super familiar with all of this stuff...
