You can open Pd from the command line in mac: cd to the bin directory of the application folder, e.g.:
/Applications/Pd-0.47-1.app/Contents/Resources/bin (or the 64-bit equivalent). Run ./pd -help to get list of startup flags ./pd -font-face "DejaVu Sans Mono" to open Pd with dejavu font.
