the code requires that Flext be used to create it so you basically run

As per your error below, it looks like you need to compile with a more or less modern version of gpp. CMake might relieve a lot of pain here as well. Basically, the code is asking to use the copy operator (operator=) to copy an integer into a t_word. I guess different compilers and OSs will have different definitions for these types, and it has to line up, or else the source code will need to be changed. FWIW, the source code shouldn't do this. It is bad style to type-pun with an (overloaded?) operator (because you can get compiler errors!). I would report this directly to the author on github. He might be very interested in this.
