If I'm not mistaken, [pduino] is now supported by Roman Heafeli and you
can get it here https://github.com/reduzent/pduino. The only dependency
for this is [comport] which you can get from Deken (for the OP: Help ->
Find externals, and type "comport", choose the highlighted version which
will suit your system).
There's no reason to go back to extended since it is supported for the
current Pd.

Hi,
I recommend for your case to use Pd-extended. Pduino-0.5.zip is from
that time.
Also I recommend to use the Zip version of Pd-extended as this one
does not need to be installed and you already have a newer Pd. You can
also get all the [externals] needed with the newer Pd but to simplify
your “undergrad project.” go to:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/pure-data/files/pd-extended/0.43.4/
And pick:
*Pd-0.43.4-extended-windowsxp-i386.zip*
Extract the files and start Pd-extended with a double-click on the file:
*pd-extended.bat*
You should be able to open “arduino.pd” from Hans “Pduino-0.5” folder.
You will not get “... couldn't create” messages.
I’ve never used [arduino] so the rest I don’t know.
Hope it helps,
Lucarda.

I'm trying to make a set of drumpads using Pd so I installed Firmata
2.2 as well as Pduino 0.5 from the Hans site:
https://at.or.at/hans/pd/objects.html
<https://at.or.at/hans/pd/objects.html>
I tried to run it but I get a bunch of "couldn't create" messages
like these:

I've tried to change the externals path so that it matched the Pduino

I'll really appreciate any help, it'd be important for letting me use
Pd for my undergrad project.
