macOS filesystems (hfs+), are case-insensitive by default.
that is: you can open the file "foo.txt" as "FoO.TXt" and vice-versa.
as a consequence these two names refer to the identical file.
so if you have a zip-file containing both, they will overwrite themselves.

solution: use a case-sensitive filesystem.
