hello,
the text* objects in Gem have a 2nd outlet that output information about the
text : bounding box, but also the size of the descender and descender.
I think you can use that to compute what you want.
See the corresponding Gem help file.

Dear list,

i am trying to get some typesetting in gem on 3d text layers.
i use text with alias 0 message, because of performance issues if using a lot
of layers.
is there a way to get some info on geometric dimensions of a text layer ?
i would like to be able to change text "approach" ( leading ,  baseline,
tracking , ligation...)
and width of a layer would be very useful for me .

what is possible ? are there knows ways to show poems ? :-)

i work mainly with unicode numbers as a starting point, since i use a lot of
langages
i tried a lot of things , but couldn't find.

Thanks .

Have a nice day

Pierre-Yves
