I don't think I quite understand your process. Here was my interpretation.... 1. Ensure the page in the pdf I want to link to is bookmarked. 2. Go into the Word file and highlight the text that needs to have a link. 3. Go to insert hyperlink and browse for the pdf file. Then go to the "bookmark" button. This is where everything goes wrong. When I click on the bookmark button, I get the following error: "Microsoft Word could not open this file or could not parse a file of this type." I don't think that Word recognizes the bookmarks contained within a pdf. Pauline, could you tell me step by step what you did to make this work. Thanks so much everyone, Wendy >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 10/06/03 15:10 PM >>> PDF-Basics is a service provided by PDFzone.com | http://www.pdfzone.com/ __________________________________________________________________ If you bookmark the page you want the link to open from MS Word, create a bookmark for that page in the PDF then use the "create hyperlink" feature in MS Word which has two options...one for the address to the document, and a second one that actually does open a specified bookmark in the PDF document. I tried it before I wrote this to make sure. Good luck. HTML would be my preference as you suggested, but no can do. Thanks, Wendy >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 10/06/03 13:53 PM >>> PDF-Basics is a service provided by PDFzone.com | http://www.pdfzone.com/ __________________________________________________________________ Is there a reason why you need to keep it in PDF? You might find it easier to export the file as HTML, and then place bookmarks on the pages to which you want your DOC to link.
