Howdy, My agency posts the agendas for its various committees on our website as PDFs (a scanned-in, ie, bit-mapped, version for some reason that I can't determine) with links from the agenda PDF to other PDFs of the attachments. One of the complaints we hear most often is that, once someone has viewed an attachment, going back to the agenda PDF entails a major wait while the file reloads. If memory serves me, people on this list have suggested adding target="blank" to the hyperlink so that the "attachment PDF" opens in a new browser window. Does this work for links within a PDF or only for links within HTML documents? I've suggested having the agenda as an HTML document but the higher-ups want the online agenda to look exactly like the printed agenda. Optimizing the pdf for Fast Web View would, of course, help. Any answers or suggested alternatives would be greatly appreciated.
