This is very off topic but I'm not sure where else to see if anyone has experienced this problem with the Adobe font ZaphDingbats. We use to have Windows 95 as our O/S on our PCs. Recently we were switched to NT 4. On the old 95 machines we had no trouble using ZaphDingbats in a Word 97 document. Now that we are on NT anytime we open a Word 97 file that has ZaphDingbats in it the file corrupts and locks the session of Word. Data in the file is unrecoverable. I can, however, take one of these files and open it on an XP machine with the XP version of Word and there's no problem (both have the same versions of Adobe ATM and fonts installed). What we are doing as a work around is moving the files over to the XP machine, open them and replace ZaphDingbats with a BitStream TTF called "ZaphDingbats BT". Then we save the file and move it back over to the NT machine. Everything is OK from that point on with that file. Problem is we could have hundreds of files in this situation. Has anybody experienced this problem between ZaphDingbats, Word and NT? I've reinstalled the font but it made no difference. Also we've noticed that a lower case "s" and "t" in ZaphDingbats shows up on screen as different characters than what is in the font or what prints.
