[PDF-Basics] Acrobat Oddity

I have this setup on one PC:
        Windows 98
        Acrobat 5 (full version)
        48x CDR
The problem that I have is that Acrobat will stall at the splash screen if 
there is no CD in the drive. Insert a CD and Acrobat continues to load. 
This doesn't happen to any other application. I'm undecided whether this is 
an Acrobat or CDR problem so I'll post this request on hardware and 
software lists.

Anyone have any idea what is happening?
