I think you're right about the memory. I will try the opening in Distiller.

Eileen,

When you say you pick Acrobat Distiller to print file to, does it prompt you for a file name or name the file the same as it is with the extension changed from .wpd to .prn or .ps? Also, are you clicking the print to file check box on the print dialog box. If this is so, and the file is saving and then stopping, there may be a memory problem.

If you are saving the file, and you get a huge file, say about 30MB or more, that is the file that you should then open in Acrobat Distiller and distill. If it continues to stop, try printing half the document to a .prn file and if that distills then you can easily combine the two pdf's into one for your printer.

Hello Ed and thank you for the reply -
Windows XP - WordPerfect 10.  Acrobat 5.
I pick the Acrobat Distiller to print the file to - it acts like it's working,
then just stops.
I can break it into smaller pieces, but would rather not.
I would like to send the book to my printer .pdf instead of hard copy and I'm sure he will appreciate that also.
Thank you for your time and knowledge -
Eileen Mc

A couple of questions: What platform and OS version. What version of Wordperfect? Are you connected to a postscript printer. Do you have any version of Acrobat (4, 5, or 6)?

As to whether it's possible, yes it is? It just depends on your hardware/software. If you have the Acrobat printer driver installed on your system, you should be able to print directly to PDF. If not then you can print the file as a postscript file (.prn or .ps) and distill the file in Acrobat Distiller.
