While it's correct that Acrobat 6 allows you to add a watermark, the watermark must be another PDF document. You cannot place a watermark in any other format (i.e., .eps, .tiff or .jpg). If you are generating PDF from a MS Word document there is a way to create a watermark before distilling, see the MSWord help file.   For creating a watermark on a PDF after the fact, you can check out pdfzone tools and search for watermark.
