Sabrina,
 
  It sounds to me like you may have a memory problem. Scanned (.tif) PDF files are notoriously large and take enormous amounts of memory to spool and print. Let us all know what kind of platform you are running on (Processor Speed/OS/RAM), maybe someone has had a similar problem. Try printing the files that don't print in their entirety in segments and see if that works.
