As a generalisation, in Windows, ALL files sent/saved to FILE have the extension .prn. This is irrespective of which printer driver you use. All postscript printers, which is the minority, as most of the printer manufacturers have their own printer drivers rather than pay Adobe for the postscript driver only accept postscript files. Postscript files have the extension .ps. I generate .PRN files using a postscript printer to disk. I use these .PRN files to generate PDF files While opening files Distiller expects only .PS files. Is there no way to make it accept .PRN files ? Presently, I type *.PRN and <enter> Then all the files with .PRN files get displayed. And I select from the listing. This problem can also be solved if the printer driver generates a file with .PS extension.
